OBJECTIVES

Guide policy, planning and design decisions for future development of the neighbourhood. Focus on specific areas of the neighborhood, while considering the larger context of the community. Based on sustainable principles and real time requirements of residents, it aims to:

• Initiate a bottom-up community-driven proactive and engaging planning process

• Define the community’s long-term goals and objectives

• Connect with other initiatives to create a neighborhood comprehensive plan

• Address larger issues that encompass details

GOALS

Improve quality of life - health and well being of residents by addressing:

• Infrastructure - roads, footpaths, parking, utilities, etc.

• Walkable safe pedestrian facilities

• Equitable neighbourhood for children, seniors, specially-abled, women, and other vulnerable groups

• Multi-modal transportation with better transport interconnectivity

• Safety and a sense of place 

• Sustainable practices – garbage management, storm water management, green buildings, etc.

• Conservation of green space, access to parks, preservation of natural resources, etc.
